The Ports of Faxaflói and Alda Partner for Safer, Smarter Ports

Alda Safety and the Ports of Faxaflói have signed a service and development agreement regarding the use and adaptation of the Alda system for the Ports of Faxaflói’s service vessels. The agreement supports the Ports of Faxaflói’s commitment to safe, efficient operations and the development of the smart ports of the future.

The agreement was signed this week at the IceFish fisheries exhibition, marking the first time the Alda system will be implemented for a port authority’s service vessels.

We want a clear, accessible overview of onboard safety matters and a system that benefits our crews in their daily work," says Jón Þórir Sveinsson, Safety Manager at the Ports of Faxaflói. "The ability to manage mandatory drills, risk assessments, and other safety tasks in a single location improves oversight and follow-up, and was a key factor in our decision to choose Alda."

The service agreement covers the Ports of Faxaflói’s use of the system, while a concurrent development agreement focuses on adapting Alda specifically for port operations. The development process will draw on the experience of those responsible for safety and the daily operations of the Ports of Faxaflói’s service vessels. This collaboration aligns well with the Ports of Faxaflói’s commitment to evolving in step with the needs of the community and the business sector, while leveraging digital solutions to enhance safety, oversight, and efficiency.
