North Sailing the first whale watching company to join Alda - An exciting milestone in whale watching safety in Iceland

We at Alda are extremely proud that North Sailing is the first whale watching company in Iceland to implement the Alda safety management system. This marks a milestone in whale watching safety, as we take an important step together in bringing the same discipline, data-driven approach and professionalism that has been developed with and used by the country's largest fishing companies - to whale watching passenger ships.
The implementation also begins a focused development collaboration with North Sailing, where the Alda system will be tailored to the conditions of whale watching, which is characterized by smaller ships, diverse crew groups, tourism and ever-changing conditions at sea. This work is carried out in close collaboration with North Sailing's captains and crews, in the same way that Alda has been developed from the start in close collaboration with Icelandic fishermen.
This is also a major milestone for Alda. With the project, we are entering a new arena - outside of traditional fishing - and into other types of ships that have different needs in some areas with regard to safety management. This is of great importance for the continued development of the system and opens the way for more companies in the tourism and passenger transport sector who want to enhance safety, employee welfare and professionalism in their operations.
We look forward to further developing the system in collaboration with North Sailing and supporting even safer, more professional and efficient whale watching in Iceland.
Thank you very much for your trust – we are excited for the times ahead!
